P(oops)!

Today, while I was giving Mason a bath, he pulled himself up and stood on the side of the tub. Then, he started grunting and proceeded to go #2 in the bathtub. I just started laughing. At least he was in the bathtub. Hopefully, he doesn't make it a habit like his uncle.

He has been saying da-da regularly over the past couple of weeks. This morning was the first time I heard him saying ma-ma. It wasn't very clear, but it was definitely different a different sound than da-da.

Today, he started doing the sign language for "more". Rachel has been trying to get him to do it for about a month now. It helps to know if he wants more to eat.

9 month pictures

Today we had a photographer come out to take Mason's 9 month pictures. The photographer I used doesn't do a lot of children but I think I am really going to like the shots they got. They had some really great ideas and he showed me a few on his camera that were awesome. We got some outdoor shots, family shots, one of Mason eating a cookie and some in the bathtub. It was a good variety. He is really crawling around a lot and getting much faster.

I tried feeding Mason peas for dinner but he just threw them on the floor for Lucy. I guess they don't really compare to that chocolate chip cookie.

9 months 1 week.

Gosh..I am really bad at remembering that I have two blogs so I will try to catch up from this past week. Mason turned 9 months last Sunday and ever since then he's been non-stop with the developmental growth. He is now crawling fully on his hands and knees and he is starting to move pretty fast. We need to baby-proof the house soon and it seems like such a daunting task, i have no idea where to start. I guess I will start at Target. I always can use a good excuse to go there.

He also is starting to wave. He won't do it on command, it's just very random and whenever he feels like it, but it sure is cute! On Good Friday, I went to the mall with my friend Emily and since Mason was getting tired of the stroller I put him in the baby bjorn. He was facing away from me and as we were walking through Macy's he was waving at all the ladies that worked at the cosmetic counter. It was a hoot.

Eric finally fixed our bathtub upstairs to be able to hold water, (the stopper was broken) so tonight we bathed Mason in the big bathtub. As soon as I put him in it he looked up at me and gave me a big smile like, Thank you mom for finally getting rid of that tiny baby tub. He crawled around the tub and splashed like crazy. His favorite part was to pull up to a standing position on the side of the tub and fall back into the water. I thought this was going to hurt him but he thought it was hilarious.

He has become increasingly attached to me. I can hardly leave the room anymore which has become a bit of a challenge. Tonight he cried when I handed him to Eric to take him to bed. It can be frustrating at times but I am trying to enjoy his attachment issues because I know there is a time not far down the road that he won't want me anywhere near him.

Tomorrow is Easter and he has a cutie-patootie outfit to wear to church. We have will be with family all day which will be fun but exhausting.

sweet boy

So today and yesterday Mason started doing something really sweet. When my nieces and nephew did this, I always thought to myself that I couldn't wait until Mason did it. When I hold him he just lightly lays his head down on my shoulder and cuddles with me...for just a second. It doesn't last long so I try to enjoy each second every time it happens. Sometimes I try to hold his head down on my shoulder but it doesn't work. He's like, "Okay, I'm done, put me down now" Regardless, it's really a sweet little gesture.

Feeling Guilty

I should have done this long ago but life happens and I just got busy for the last nine months. Imagine that! I am creating this blog to document milestones in Mason's life. Sure, I could have used the regular (public) blog but I am going to try to post EVERYTHING. I would guess that most people will not care to know that Mason pooped 3 times in one day. I just think this will be fun to read (and for Mason to read) many years down the road.

So to catch up...Mason is almost nine months now and he has grown up so fast. I stay at home with him except for one day a week when I go to work on Friday. He is doing an army crawl and will rock back and forth on his hands and knees. I don't think it will be long before he is in a full fledged crawl. He has three teeth, two on the bottom and on on the top and he grinds them. It gives me the chills when I hear him grinding them together. Today he started pulling up to a standing position. He woke up from his nap and I watched him stand in his crib on the video monitor. I took him into the office at Keller Williams and everyone told me how cute he was. He was in a REALLY good mood so he was laughing and being the "ham" that he is.

Ever since Mason was about 2 months old he basically quit taking long naps. Now he "catnaps" anywhere between 20-45 minutes a couple of times a day. I don't think he has slept for longer that an hour at a time since he was a tiny baby. You can imagine how hard it is to entertain an infant all day. i get jealous of all the moms that have babies that take a 2-3 hour nap in the morning AND afternoon. That is between 4-6 hours a day that their baby is SLEEPING...not including bedtime!!! You always hear that being a parent is the hardest thing you will ever do but I don't know what all those people are complaining about. If I had a break like that, this parenting thing (at least at this age) would be cake. Anyways, enough of me complaining...Mason is sleeping through the night and has been for quite a while and he is the HAPPIEST and CUTEST baby so at least I get to be awake with a happy and cute baby. I just look at it as more quality time with him.
